Ashley Miller - MCE Columbus Owner/Allstar Director

Ashley fell in love with the sport the day she started cheering at her first all-star gym in Kennett, PA, called KMC Kats.  She had cheered on rec leagues since she was 4, but this is where she gained her passion for cheerleading.  She was there for 3 years until she moved to Ohio.  After moving, she cheered for her high school football, basketball, and competiton teams and then in college became part of an all girl cheer team with The Ohio State University.  After colege, she found her way back to allstar cheer when she joined Fame IOC6.  She also became a coach and staff member of CCA, where she coached all of the all star teams and was a tumble instructor.  This past year Ashley was blessed to be a part of Midwest's own IOC5 team, the Black Diamonds and got to compete at The Cheerleading Worlds.  Cheerleading is a very important part of her life and she credits the sport and things she has done and learned within it to the person she is today.  Ashley is honored to be able to coach at MCE this year to help young athletes grow, not only in cheer, but in life.

Nate Wise - Allstar Coach/Tumble Instructor

Hello, Coach Nate here! I am 34 years old, born and raised in Tiffin, Ohio. My interest in cheerleading began with my passion for gymnastics. When I was about 8 years old I discovered my talent in tumbling when I started taking tumble classes at the Tiffin YMCA. I eventually moved on to become a member of a gymnastics team in Marion, Ohio when I was in middle school. During that time, my mom was actually the cheerleading coach for my school and I would always go to the practices to watch and tumble during timeouts at the basketball games, eventually earning the title as the unofficial mascot. Once high school came around, I decided to tryout for the cheer team and the rest is history.

I cheered for 3 years in high school, being announced as captain my senior year. My high school team was very competitive as we attended numerous competitions through out the year, being undefeated both my junior and senior years. I then went on to college at THE Ohio State University where I cheered on the Buckeyes for 5 exciting years, being co-captain with my gameday partner my 5th and final year. I'm very grateful for all of the opportunities I encountered during my time as an OSU Cheerleader, one as being able to represent the Buckeyes at UCA College Nationals for four seasons. He coached Midwest Cheer Elite's 2019 Summit Champions Black Label

During my college career I was also a staff member for AmeriCheer for 2 years and then for Cheer Ohio for 3 years where I worked as a summer camp instructor, teaching tumbling and cheerleading skills to kids from grades 7 through 12. I also have experience in other aspects of cheerleading including choreographing routines and being part of the judges panel at various competitions. A couple years after graduating from OSU I was hired  as the Gym Coordinator for NorthStar Studio, where I have been ever since.

Cheerleading is an important part of my life, and it's an honor and privilege that I get to teach and inspire young athletes. My goal as a coach is not only to help them grow as athletes, but also as responsible members of their communities.

Jamal Niles - Marketing Director/Allstar Coach/Stunt Instructor

Jamal Niles' primary goal as a coach is to make sure my athletes are as successful in the real world as they are in the cheer gym. While teaching and improving skills in the gym, he wants to make sure they possess the necessary knowledge and abilities to succeed in school, their personal lives and then onto their college education and future careers.
With nearly 16 years experience in the cheerleading industry he has coached and choreographed for many programs ranging from high school, collegiate programs, and all levels of all-star cheer. He is most recently the assistant cheerleading coach at Bowling Green State University. He has helped coached teams to numerous state and national titles including the 2014 UCA College Small Coed Division 1 national title and top 3 finishes for the BGSU small coed program every year during his tenure. He along with some dedicated upperclassmen of the all-girl program hit the road running in late 2013 to have the all-girl program compete at the 2014 UCA College nationals for the first time. The all-girl program showed quick progress and was a finalist in Division 1A this season. He coached the Midwest Cheer Elite Columbus Black Label team to a 2019 Varsity Allstar Summit Championship!

Originally from Brooklyn, New York Jamal got his start cheering when moving to suburban Lower Merion High School right outside of Philadelphia; where he was part of the high school team and also part of a countless national championship title all star program.
After his high school achievements, Jamal cheered all his undergraduate years at The Ohio State University where in his final season he was selected captain. He graduated with a Bachelor’s of Science in Human Ecology: Human Nutrition and a minor in Exercise Science. He went onto immediately attend graduate school at Bowling Green State University receiving a Master of Science in Food and Nutrition. He won the 2013 World University cheerleading championship in small coed with his fellow squad members.
He is a veteran judge/rules official and has judged many competitions (college, high school, and all star) on the regional and national level. He has been a judge at the UCA College National Championship, UCA National High School Cheerleading Championship, the UCA International All Star Championship, and The Summit National Championship. He is a 13 year veteran and head instructor for Universal Cheerleaders Association cheerleading camps and was most recently voted HI of the Year in 2016 and 2019.

EJ Blade - Allstar Coach/Choreographer/Tumble Instructor

EJ was first introduced to cheer in 1999 when his aunt Treva Coleman decided to open up her allstar gym Columbus Fyinest. His purpose for cheering was to learn the tumbling aspect of the sport to help him stand out as a dancer, but instead he feel in love with every aspect of the sport. He began coaching hip hop and doing choreography and music for various inner city teams in the community as well as mentoring athletes along the way. He later went on to spend his super senior year at the Matrix Allstars where he would compete at the 2009 USASF Cheerleading Worlds for the first time. From then, he coached cheer for the next few years and came out of retirement on the Matrix first IOC5 team Armageddon. It was in this same yr he created HotRhymez Productions. A company that was meant just for cheerleading vocals but has turned into a company for choreography, cheer music, hip hop music, and even fashion show music for the Pittsburgh Steelers apparel line. Once his Aunt Treva passed away EJ decided to go back to his dance roots and he put on a tribute in her honor and later went on to place 2nd in the US 5th in the world at the 2013 dance worlds. Ej has also been apart of Spirit Athletics IOC6 team placing 7th in the worlds as well as MCE West Chester's very own IOC5 Black Diamonds. EJ continues to do vocals for some of the biggest names in cheer but his passion will always be coaching athletes not only in the sport of cheer and art of dance but as well as in life.

EJ is a 2-time USASF Dance Worlds Champion in the Open Male Hip Hop division with Pittsburgh Poison's King Cobras.

Halie Cotterman- Allstar Coach/Tumble Instructor

Hello! I’m Halie (pronounced Hal-e). I’m married to my high school sweetheart, Wes, and we have a dog named Sterling. Due to my husband previously being in the military, I have been able to live in Germany and Alaska before returning back to Ohio. I started out in the all star world as an athlete myself, and in high school I started my coaching journey as a  junior coach. I have been blessed to be able to coach every level from tiny novice to the worlds division. I have previously worked as field staff for the USASF and am credentialed level 1 - level 6. I love being able to share my passion for this sport with the next generation, and  I’m excited for this new opportunity. I look forward to being able to share my knowledge as well as grow and learn during this new adventure.

Justin Warne- Allstar Coach/Tumble Instructor

This season will mark my 12th year coaching in the cheer industry, and I’m very pleased to have Midwest Cheer Elite Columbus welcome me into their family. I have experience coaching mini, youth, junior and senior. Also credentialed levels 1-6 in both stunting and tumbling. The most rewarding aspect of coaching to me is the positive impression left on athletes when teaching cheer and sometimes even life lessons.

When not coaching I am either talking interest rates for a local financial institution as one of their loan officers, or hanging with brothers, sisters and their families. I am the oldest of six, so there is always something going on!

Faith Colegrove - Prep Team Coach/Tumble Instructor

Hello! My name is Faith Colegrove, I attend Marion Technical College where I am studying to become a Probation officer. I cheered for 12 years in both All star and school organizations. I was also a member of the 2019 Varsity Allstar Summit winning Small Senior Coed Level 3 team Black Label here at Midwest Cheer Elite Columbus.

I am excited to coach because it gives me the opportunity to mentor and inspire the younger athletes who have chosen this sport. It also gives me the opportunity to share my passion with the younger generation.
